We are off to a great start this year! I am enjoying getting to know the children better each day. A daily routine of singing our good morning song, days of the week, months/seasons of the year, ABC, and number songs starts us off to a great day. Along with singing, the children are learning how to bless themselves, say the Hail Mary, Glory Be, and prayers before and after a meal.
As we approach Fall, the children will be learning to recite, recognize, and write the letters of the alphabet. We have started the letter Ee. We know Ee is a vowel and it gives a short and long sound. The lines on our writing paper have special names too! The top line is the attic, the dotted line is the bedroom, and the bottom line is the basement. We have learned to write the numbers 1 and 4, and learned the difference between a square and a rectangle. School rules and procedures continue to be reviewed on a daily basis.
On Back-to-School Night on Monday, September 9, at 7pm, be sure to look at our Pre-K 4 "Mirror, Mirror" bulletin board in the hallway.
