We are off to a great start this year! I am enjoying getting to know the children better each day. A daily routine of singing our good morning song, days of the week, months/seasons of the year, ABC, and number songs starts us off to a great day. Along with singing, the children are learning how to bless themselves, say the Hail Mary, Glory Be, and prayers before and after a meal.
As we approach Fall, the children will be learning to recite, recognize, and write the letters of the alphabet. We have started the letter Aa. We know Aa is a vowel and it gives a short and long sound. The lines on our writing paper have special names too! The top line is the attic, the dotted line is the bedroom, and the bottom line is the basement. We have learned to write the numbers 1 and 4, and learned the difference between a square and a rectangle. School rules and procedures continue to be reviewed on a daily basis.
Pre-K 4 has been quite busy since the first day of school. Oh, did I mention that someone has been stealing cookies from the cookie jar? Please look at the bulletin board near our classroom when you attend Back-to-School Night on Wednesday, September 26, at 7pm. If any of the cookies are missing, we will know it was you!
